The client had recently sold their property to their daughter, and wished to stay in a garden cottage on the same property in order to be close to the family. They enjoyed the 'modern barn' aesthetic, which we tied in with the existing architecture through the use of similar materials. The kitchen island is designed to accommodate storage and an oven and stove, and also feel like a dining table. A portal frame on the patio adds to the farm-like feel.
